Who are we?

Car & Cars Ltd, trading as Car & Cars, is a used car dealership that also acts as a credit broker, helping customers arrange finance for their vehicle purchase.

Are we authorised to arrange finance?

Yes. Car & Cars Ltd is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority ("FCA") for credit-broking activities. We are not a lender ourselves. Our FCA Firm Reference Number is 1052518. You can verify this at https://register.fca.org.uk/. Please note that business customers may not be protected under the Consumer Credit Act 1974 or FCA rules.

What can we do to help you finance your vehicle?

We can put you in touch - either directly or via a specialist credit broker - with a panel of finance providers ("funders") who may be able to fund your purchase. There may be other funders outside our panel who could also offer finance.

We'll explain the finance products available to you, and where we recommend a particular product, that recommendation will be based on the information you give us about your needs and circumstances, so it's suitable for you. All finance is subject to status, terms and conditions, and we can't guarantee that a funder will agree to lend.

Can we give you independent financial advice?

No - we are not independent financial advisers, so we're not able to give you independent financial advice.

Do you pay for this service?

You don't pay us anything directly. However, the funder or broker we introduce you to may pay us a commission for that introduction. Commission amounts vary between funders/brokers, and we'll tell you exactly how much we'll be paid if you ask us.

How do we use your information?

We use your details to get quotes from funders/brokers and to process any finance application you make through them. We and/or they may carry out a search with one or more credit reference agencies - this means a credit check may appear on your file even from organisations you haven't dealt with directly. Your information may also be shared with fraud prevention agencies, who use it to check your identity and prevent fraud or money laundering. If fraud is suspected, you could be refused finance, other services, or even employment.
