Buying a used car as an unaccompanied female
Going alone to buy a used car, as an older woman, is as appealing as going to the dentist for a root canal without anesthetic - but not this time! I bought a 2011 Vauxhall Astra from Car & Cars about a month ago. Muhammed and the team were patient, helpful, and respectful. I didn't feel pushed and the sale went through same day with no fuss.The gearbox seemed a little stiff on the test drive. I thought I just needed to get used to it, but driving home it became clear there was a bigger problem. I owned the car by then and had the free 6 mth warranty and AA cover, so Car & Cars could have left me to sort it out but they came immediately and collected the car.The fix turned out to be bigger than expected (it's an old, well-used car) but they never asked for more money and the car has been running fine ever since. I'm very pleased with my experience -- I recommend Car & Cars 100%!
